When it rains, it pours

Tigger had been my constant companion since 1997. He followed me everywhere, literally slept on top of me every night, never missed an opportunity to curl up on my lap and licked and nuzzled me when I was sad. Three years ago, we almost lost him to a severe case of kidney stones. He had surgery to allow him to pass the stones more easily and was doing great until a few months ago when he had another severe episode. I was so thrilled when he made another miraculous recovery. All was well until Wednesday morning. I took him to the animal hospital, they fixed him up and I brought him home. And I knew deep down inside that this was it.

Yesterday afternoon, my poor little Tigger's body just gave out. His kidneys were shot, he was bleeding internally and his other organs were failing him. It was with great sadness and a heavy heart that I had to put him down. He was only 10 years old. Those of you who have pets know how hard it is to say goodbye to a special furry friend.

Gigi, I am so sorry about the loss of your Tigger. I truly know how painful that must be. We have four special family members of the feline variety and I would be heartbroken if I lost any of them.
On another note, I am so happy to see you posting again. You inspired me to start my own blog too. (http://littlemis.wordpress.com)
Glad you are back!!

I'm so sorry about Tigger. It's so hard when our furry friends leave us. They live on in our memory but nothing can replace the hole they leave behind.

Poor Tigger! I'm sure he's rolling in the big catnip field in the sky.

(I love the photo you've used of him: classic cat sitting on the very piece of paper you need.)

Gigi,

Our deepest condolences on Tigger's passing. Being owned by an orange cat, I know how very special they are.

I am sure Tigger will send someone new into your life when you're ready. Kind souls like yours are not long without furry companions.

Firstly, Gigi, I'm delighted to see a post from you...I've missed you! Secondly, the dress is fabulous! Thirdly...I'm so sorry to hear about Tigger; I well remember when you had to make the decision about his surgery. I know you will miss him...and I also suspect that this means another abandoned kitty is now going to get a marvelous home. Not a replacement...just another place for the kitty love to go. {h}

I'm very sorry that his days were cut short. It is a certainty that, as one of your cats, Tigger experienced more love and happiness in 10 years than most do in twice that time. Here's hoping that the good memories will stay with you.

Gigi,
so sorry to read about Tigger. I'm sure he had the best life possible with you, even if he had to go too early.
I guess he is happy and healthy where he is now, just over the rainbow bridge with my Cleo....
