I miss you too!

I've received so many nice messages and emails after my recent departure from an online sewing community (which shall remain nameless). I am so touched by your support and, yes, I do miss so many of you! However, after a year of unpleasantries, this latest incident was simply the final straw for me. I cannot continue to support a site whose owner condones that sort of behaviour and hope you understand that I had to move on.

On a more positive note, I've been hanging out at Stitcher's Guild (link on the sidebar) when I'm feeling chatty. Maybe I'll see you there!

I agree. I am a teacher and sometimes have to arbitrate little unpleasantries. This simply was not done. One has to question the motive. I am a silent (lurking) member there and have a personal moral issue with paying for a forum in the first place, so I will probably make my exit as well. I am only a beginner sewist anyway, as in currently working on Kwik Sew 2900, a basic tee.

I'm taking your comments to mean that you've "lurked" and seen all of our plaintive "miss yous" on the boards. I'm clueless as to what the original problem was about, since it all happened out of my view, but I'm sure your decision was valid. I'm just sorry I wasn't around earlier to benefit from your wit and wisdom. You are such a charming person, I can't imagine anyone being nasty to you.

OP Gal, I was alerted to the thread by several PR members. Be glad you missed all the brouhaha as it wasn't pretty. Thank you for visiting me here and for your kind words!

Julia, KS2900 is a very popular tee. I haven't made it (I already have too many favorite Kwik-Sew tees, haha) but know many people who use it as their TNT (tried-and-true) t-shirt pattern. Sherril Miller has made many variations of this top. Once you get it fitted you can change the design in so many ways - something the other Divas and I mean to get into shortly.

Gigi, Nevermind them. You can hold your own virtual salon here. Thanks for letting me peek in on your sewing from time to time.

The message boards at that site are going to become moderated very shortly. They waited a long time to do this, but I get the feeling from talking to the site owner that it was due to trying to let people post without feeling restrained or dragged down by moderation. And, look at how long things were really great without moderation.
Unfortunately, it's necessary now that there are obviously vile people with nothing better to do than plan and execute attacks on members. I'm just sorry that it happened too late to save people from getting hurt and leaving.

Gigi, I'm enjoying your blog and that of the Divas too. I've even started blogging myself - although I'm in the learning phase. Blogging is a great way for everyone to keep up with each other no matter where you find yourself on the net these days!
Love, Mary T

Mary, that's great to know, but it's too little too late for many. I'm just glad we have Gigi here where we can get her undivided attention! :)
